Does OBS-captions-plugin work with Streamlabs OBS?

No, the OBS-captions-plugin does not work with Streamlabs OBS (SLOBS). SLOBS does not support third-party plugins like this one. It is designed specifically for OBS Studio.

Can this plugin caption languages with non-western character sets?

The plugin does NOT support native caption output for languages with foreign character sets like Japanese or Russian due to how Twitch and OBS captions work. However, transcripts and Open Captions functionality do work for these languages.
